“we’re waiting for the toast to pop” is a song that zooms into a stuck mind that can’t seem to see the whole picture. It only sees its own tangled up thoughts at the breakfast table. It’s a mind that romanticizes the cryptic and the mellow and makes it seem like a black and white movie scene stuck on repeat. It knows it’s detached from reality and should go back, but it can’t stop spiraling into that coffee cup that keeps staring back. Words can’t drag it back. Music only makes it worse. Maybe a shock from the toaster will do the trick? This 2nd single of Dania O. Tausen’s B-side/no-side is the last single before she releases this 2nd half of her album “ja/nei – og restin av vikuni” (yes/no – and the rest of the week).
