Tíð, ið koma skal
In memory of Esther H. Suðuroy – Although we go separate ways, we may meet again
Dagfinn Olsen and Kim Hansen are now releasing the song “Time That Will Come”. The song “Tíð, ið koma skal” is about going their separate ways, but that separation is not always final, but if the friendship is good, then the roads will cross again. And if their hearts meet, they will surely meet again in the future.
Dagfinn has several songs piling up in the drawers, and this one turns 30 years old this August, so it was time to get it recorded and released. Dagfinn has for several years planned to get Kim to join him on this project, and only two years ago they went to work, took their time working in their spare time.
Dagfinn and Kim have a long history together. Dagfinn was an active musician in the mid-1980s, and played as a teenager around the country, including in Nólsoy. There was often singing and good piano playing through an open living room window, and this was a very young Kim, who played. Later they got to know each other, and sometimes played together. When Dagfinn released an album in 1997, he got Kim to play keyboards on some songs and to sing two songs, where especially Fagri Flokkur became famous.
Kim is among the most famous and active musicians in the country. Dagfinn has played a lot over the years, but has not been so active in the release field in recent years. But 4 years ago he released a children’s album, and two years ago a Christmas song, where children sang.
Now Dagfinn and Kim are out with the song “Tíð, ið koma skal” on which they both sing. Kim plays piano and other instruments while Dagfinn plays bass, and Jens Marni Hansen plays guitar. Kim, Dagfinn and Tróndur Enni sing the backing vocals. Kim and Tróndur have taken care of the recordings, and Finnur Hansen has mixed the recordings.
