About her debut single, from her upcoming EP, Marianna Winter says:
There are parts of ourselves that we’d rather hide from others, and ourselves. We act as if we have our shit together when the truth is we fuck up. We all do it. But is it really such a fuck-up if we crave it that much? That feeling of wanting something, that isn’t entirely good for you and knowing that logically it doesn’t make any sense, but it’s out of your control, inspired the song ‘Over You’. Because what are we if not a compiled result of all of our mistakes and bad decisions.
“I wanted the music to convey that internal fight that goes on inside your head sometimes when you know something’s bad, but it feels so good. The lyrics are very much me having an ongoing conversation with myself and that’s why the production starts very intimately with a naked vocal and a soft Juno and builds from there on with psychedelic synth pads and dreamy harmonies to give the listener a full tour of my minds inner workings.”
