It builds in controlled electro-pop intensity towards a cathartic climax, where specific and universal longings for love merge in one elegant stroke. In Circles, brings out the 2021 realism of feeling tempted to always leave the door half open in case something better should appear. In this song, Kampmann puts into words the bitterness that follows after realizing that, if she keeps waiting for life to happen, she will eventually run out of time at one point, having waited for something idealized for her whole, wastedlife.
