Marius DC gears up for EP release with new single “Big Things”
Faroese rapper Marius DC has been having a busy 2021, with singles, festival performances and battle-rap appearances galore, but with his fourth and final single from his upcoming EP, the young MC is completely in his element.
The song is a return to form, stylistically resembling the bar-heavy 2019 release 25/8 much more than any single DC has released in recent memory.
To keen-eyed observers, “Big Things” may sound familiar. This is no mystery, as Marius has been teasing it for over a year, even going as far as to perform it in full at the “Tórsgøta LIVE” online-concert in mid-2020.
It’s gone through quite a makeover though, gone are the Slim-Shady-esque eastern strings of the original, replaced with choppy synthesizer chords and a delayed bass drop that hits like a freight train.
The self produced banger blends non-stop, rapid-fire punchlines with an intricate, menacing trap beat, resulting in a flavor that can only be described as textbook MZA.
