Description
Havið sang (“The sea has sung”) is a musical setting of a poem written by Faroese poet Hans Andrias Djurhuus (1883-1951). The words depict the relationship between the Faroese people and the waters that surround it – as a source of both sorrow and joy, of dangers and heroic journeys, motivating as many drinking songs as funeral psalms. It tells of a sea that sings to its people, and this is one attempt at picturing what such a song could sound like.
