Old Friends
Words: Eva Perrin Fontana
Music: Eyði Horsdal
It’s the kind of night
Where I keep mistaking
The leaves on the trees
For stars
And the moon
Is covering his bashful smile
From our petal-filled
Compliments
They make him pull the sky
Like a quilted duvet
Over the left side
Of his face
So I think of you,
Old friends
We are.
It’s the kind of night
I’ve just let my friends go
And I’m walking alone
To my house
Suddenly,
I’m so awfully aware of my myself
And there’s only blue
I taste the night
There’s echoes in the space
Between the concrete
Moving through my ears
I feel bare
So I think of you,
Old friends
We are.
They make him pull the sky
Like a quilted duvet
Over the left side
Of his face
So I think of you,
Old friends
We are.
It’s the kind of night
I’ve just let my friends go
And I’m walking alone
To my house
Suddenly,
I’m so awfully aware of my myself
And there’s only blue
I taste the night
There’s echoes in the space
Between the concrete
Moving through my ears
I feel bare
So I think of you,
Old friends
We are.
