Description
‘le début’ is the name of TeleMama’s first ever full-length release and it tells a story of a new band trying to identify themselves as they step on the music scene for the first time in their lives.
The EP itself consists of six songs delving into different genres and touching on different topics. In short, the songs revolve around being young adolescents in the capital of the Faroe Islands, Tórshavn. Some of the songs are lighthearted tunes about going out and partying, while others delve into subjects of stress and worry about moving forward in life. Four of the songs were released as singles between January and April.
All six songs were written in spring and summer of 2021 with lead singer, Óli Joensen, having all the time in the world while sailing around the Atlantic Ocean as a fisherman. The lyrics and ideas then came to life as Óli had time to practice with the boys in between trips. The result was a raw and homemade dream-come-true project by five young guys, who always wanted to become world beating rockstars.
The songs are recorded in the studio at Margarinfabrikkin in Tórshavn and in the bedrooms of band members Dan Eyðun Karbech Saxov and Ørvur Argenziano Hentze respectively. The songs are also more or less self-produced with help from professional sound mixer, IntroVers Studio, who also mixed and mastered all of the songs. The cooperation with IntroVers Studio went well even if the guys had to take time off from school or work sometimes, but dreams won’t become reality if you don’t try and live them out while you have the chance!
