Description
Andaneyð
Andaneyð is TeleMama’s first song in Faroese. “Andaneyð” in Faroese means “unable to breath” and the song itself is about feeling powerless and unable to breathe out about it where this can be about bad habits and the struggles of reaching full adulthood. “Andaneyð” is the bands second single in the second half of 2025 and is another example of TeleMama, and especially lead singer and songwriter Óli Joensen, having switched from writing songs about being young in the Faroes and having fun, to discussing the confusions of life you may face being a grown up.
Sonically, Andaneyð isn’t the usual sweet pop song as you may expect from TeleMama but rather identified by the heavy and electronic bassline played by Ørvur Argenziano Hentze and Jákup Holm Johannesens drums. A bit different than usual by the band, Andaneyð has a chorus to sing a long that isn’t solely instrumental. Like with the single released earlier this fall, Essential Love, Sjúrður Zachariasson (GØ) plays a role in the outro with his saxophone.
