Slættaratindur – Marius DC

Faroese rap prospect Marius DC is back with an anticipated release in his native language of Faroese. The track serves as a bookend to what is undeniably the most fruitful year of
the young MC’s career, and boy does it show.

The 18 year old sounds cocky as ever with lines like “I’m at the top of the Faroes, like Slættaratindur”(a reference to the highest mountain on the islands) and “Came to Sement, and I totally won”(a reference to his big win in the music competition in May). It strikes a balance between conventional brag-raps and quintessentially local references, creating a lyrical landscape that’s hard to find anywhere else.

Eagle-eyed fans of nordic music may recognize Marius from his star-making appearance at Reykjavík’s Iceland Airwaves festival in November, or his co-sign from Danish superstar Tobias Rahim earlier this year. DC’s star is rising, and Slættaratindur is the highest peak so far.

Released on the following formats:
Digitally on all major platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.). You can check it out with this link: https://bfan.link/slaettaratindur

Teenage Drama – Marius DC

‘Teenage Drama’ is Marius DC’s third release of 2021, and much like the other two, it’s a stylistic leap for the young rapper. Trading the braggadocios bars of ‘Gasoline’ and ‘Respekt’ for melodic melancholy, Marius sounds more angsty and emotionally honest than ever. The song is a quintessential emo-rap track, right down to the edgy […]

Respekt – Marius DC

Drill hits the Faroe Islands The second single from Faroese Marius DC’s “Westender” EP is out, and to call it a departure from the rapper’s previous material is an understatement. “Respekt” is the first track Marius has ever written in his native tongue. It’s a departure from Marius’ previous material, which was entirely in English, […]

Gasoline – Marius DC

Gasoline, Marius DC’s latest release, serves as a return to the public eye for the Drip Drop rapper. After a year of seemingly being M.I.A. from the music industry, the Faroese MC is back with an all new banger for the masses. “Smoke gas, gasoline” the 17-year old yelps over booming bass hits and rattling hi-hats. It’s almost hard […]
