Sólin skínur gjøgnum gluggan – Bárður á Lakjuni

About Sólin skínur gjøgnum gluggan

“The Sun Is Shining Through The Window” is a song originally written by the Danish composer Carsten Hessum. Jógvan á Lakjuni translated the text into Faroese in the early 1980ies. The song describes the sun and how it changes everything as it shines through the window on which seems to be a late and snowy winter’s day with snow on the ground. It is heart warming and gives a positive and childish vibe with hope for warmer and brighter days ahead.

The song is performed by Tey á Lakjuni, wcich is a group made up of Jógvan á Lakjuni’s 5 children and 16 grandchildren. It was recorded as a surprise for him on his 70th birthday.
