KNÚKUR KNÁUR is a boatrace song. It portays the racing boat “Knúkur” from the rowing club “Tindur” in Eysturkommunu in the Faroe Islands. The song describes the five-oar rowing boat as it rows a fast stroke through the sea.
Signar á Reynatrøð has written the lyrics, and Bárður á Lakjuni and Niclas Johannesen have written the music. The text and the melody resemble the old Faroese chain dance tradition combined with the modern pop/rock genre.
