Ragnar Finsson

Ragnar Finsson is a Faroese musician, producer, songwriter, and artist whose work blends emotional clarity with sonic curiosity. Drawing inspiration from artists like Big Thief, Adrianne Lenker, Steve Lacy, José González, Bon Iver, and Fleetwood Mac, Finsson crafts songs that feel intimate yet expansive- anchored in intricate guitar work, spacious production, and reflective, existential lyrics. His approach to music centers on presence over performance, inviting listeners into a world that is both deeply personal and subtly profound.

Currently working on high-end demos for his debut solo album, Finsson envisions his sound finding a home alongside acts like Big Thief and Bon Iver.

In 2024, Finsson earned second place in the national songwriting and performance competition Sement, which led to his selection to perform at G! Festival.

Prior to Sement, he released the critically acclaimed EP Crossing under the artist name HORRSE, which earned him Best New Artist at the Faroese Music Awards. He later went on to win Best Album for Ja/Nei – og restin av vikuni, Dania O. Tausen’s debut album, which he co-wrote and co-produced. He has also collaborated on various releases with artists such as Marianna Winter, Aggrasoppar, and Marius DC.

Finsson has brought his thoughtful live presence to international stages including The Great Escape, G! Festival, and Iceland Airwaves.
