Description
Essential Love
After quite a long hiatus, TeleMama is finally back with another single. “The boys” – now all in their mid twenties – are all grown up, which can heard in their new approach to songwriting. Essential Love, the band’s first single in two years – and the second one off of their up and coming album – delves into the topic of entering adulthood. More specifically the song explores the theme of having to choose a career path to shape the rest of one’s life and the oftentimes toxic internal battle of having to choose between doing something that you’re actually passionate about versus doing something that you know will bring you money.
Sonically, the track is a funky, upbeat indie rock song with a characteristically catchy hook that most definitely will stick to your brain. Towards the end of the song, the sound gets increasingly more ambient accompanied by a dreamy saxophone played by the talentful Sjúrður Zachariasson (GØ) before culminating in a garage rock inspired breakdown featuring the obligatory guitar solo.
The track is the second single off of the band’s up and coming album set to release in the summer of 2026 and won’t be the last single release before the release of the album.
