Hús (feat. KATA) – Guðrið Hansdóttir

Angels sing on the latest single by Guðrið Hansdóttir, from the upcoming album “Gult myrkur”. ”Hús” (House) is a song about grief. The loss of a loved one leaves an immense void, an empty house, full of the things that remind you of the one you’ve lost. The song is melancholic and emotional, adorned with the lovely voices of Faroese vocal quartet Kata, and an Icelandic string quartet. This is the album’s most personal song, the melody written after the passing of Guðrið’s father in 2020. Lív, the album’s lyricist, captured the artist’s mood perfectly after a night’s conversation about loss.
