We like the idea that the universe is a place of aggression as an explanation of – or an excuse for – why we fight with the people we love. Making this track we kept hearing a narrator inside our heads; something like Werner Herzog falsely quoting Blaise Pascal – saying: the universe is filled with aggression. We wanted this track to reflect this cosmic anger, sort of like saying that it is out of our control, we can’t help but fight, but also this idea that there is a physicality to yelling, and that words although they are merely sounds can hit so hard that we get badly bruised.
