Við Kongaminnið
Most of us know the feeling of starting to wander of in our own thoughts when we sit alone for a while. We get good memories and we get bad memories. We can’t change the seasons or the past, but we can to some degree control how we behave in the present now when we’re alone with ourselves. The song “Við Kongaminnið” is about this feeling of thinking back on the times you’ve had and to deal with the now in the moment.
Gibran said it well: “Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself” and that love Jákup Lind Dam found by “Kongaminnið” a memorial monument in Tórshavn one cold winters day.
