Description
Port of Thor
This live version of Port Of Thor reflects both community and individualism. This is evident in the way it is performed by the quintet on this night at Maggies. The interplay between these 5 musicians is really sublime at times, like a well functioning community. The solos by each musician reflect individual artistic expression and personal interpretation of the compositions. It is a real joy to listen to the joyes playfulness of this tune.
This is actually true for all of the 7 tunes that the quintet played that night. All 7 tunes are due to be released as a digital album following the release of the single.
Port Of Thor, written by Arnold Ludvig, is rooted in Celtic folk music, perhaps derived from within the composer’s own dna. In any case, it’s one of those tunes, among a few, that just came to him in a flash, “like from above”, in his own words. It took Arnold only a few minutes to sketch it down on paper following the inspiration.
Released on the following formats:
Digitally on all major platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.).
