About 200

“In the Ghetto meets Motorhead as played by the Sex Pistols”

200 was formed by Mikael Blak (bass), Uni Árting (drums) and Niels Arge Galán (guitar, vocals) in 1996 as a side project with a mission: To prove that modern rock’n’roll could sound sexy in Faroese. At the time, almost all Faroese rock bands sang in English.

It wasn’t until the 2000s that the political lyrics and the musical style all came together, and the description “In the Ghetto meets Motorhead as played by the Sex Pistols” was established in a concert review.

Pro-Faroese independence, fuck Homophobia and anti-Christian Fundamentalism are 200s hallmarks and the theme of nearly all songs and albums, only varying the balance between them.

200 have toured the Faroe Islands, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Scotland and Greenland.
