About Dýpið
“Dýpið” or “The Deep” is the opening piece of the “Home Suite” by Sámal Jákup Jakobsen. The inspiration comes from the ocean and its connection to the Faroese people. It is written as a classical guitar trio, here performed by Dávur Birgisson, Hjalti Bogason Støylen and Jonas Egholm. Napoleon Smith has drawn and painted the images for the album, and this image shows a part of the album front cover.
