SISSAL
SISSAL
SISSAL, the name of the band and also of the lead singer and songwriter, are ready with their debut album A Lonely Chair With A View. Eight out of nine songs are sung in English while the last one is in their mother-tongue, Faroese. This is alt. pop/rock music that you only see coming from the Faroe Islands. All of the songs on the album are recorded live in one takes – both instruments and vocals. This as done to keep the band’s original sound intact.
Sissal likes to sing in different styles and to experiment with her voice, and has dabbled in soul, folk (-rock), musical, and classical. The other band members have their roots in jazz and improvisational music, which also comes to show on the album.
