Plutonic

Anna Iachino is one of those artists who manage to defy every expectation, every conventional trajectory we’re used to seeing in the music world. At 63 years old, she’s stepped into the realm of electronic music like she was born for it, boldly dancing through life’s hardships with a candidness that makes her work feel alive. Her project, “Plutonic,” embodies a stunning turnaround, vibrant proof that it’s never too late to create, express, or move. But Plutonic does not dabble in electronics; she lives, owns, and most of all, dances to them. Her multi-faceted art as a composer, producer, and live performer is as inspirational as it is rebellious against the expected norms. And, judging by her latest single titled “Where’s The Trauma?” she’s here to disrupt and enchant equally.

“Where’s The Trauma?” comes charging out of the gate with an energy that commands. A pulsating bassline forms its very backbone, while a steady heartbeat keeps the song grounded while layered rhythms and melody spiral up. The production is very detailed, as none of the sounds seem out of place at all. Each synth stab, each tick from a hi-hat, and each jab from the drums serve a purpose in creating a sonic tapestry that is intricate yet danceable.

The song is a total rocker, a wondrously infectious electronic dance music tune where you have to feel like dancing. Driven by a hypnotic groove, the strong bass lays the track’s backbone, while bright arched synths and dynamic buildup fuse into euphoric moments.

The vocals are the lifeblood of the track, repeating the titular refrain “Where’s the trauma?” Her voice strikes a note of tension, intimate insubordination. Anger and frustration are heard along with an intense release. Production complements this perfectly while maintaining distinctly spacious mixes, as the voice cuts through almost starkly, cleanly, against that lush backdrop of synth pads and driving percussion. The dynamic use is downright brilliant, allowing less frenetic moments indeed to yield explosive drops, not to mention the rich, textured, and deeply immersive sound design.

I found myself completely swept up in the energy of this track. The first beat just grabbed hold and didn’t let go. The way it builds and unfolds is sensational. It makes you want to get up and dance, no matter where you are. Do yourself a favor: if you haven’t already, stream “Where’s The Trauma?” by Plutonic right now.”

TURN YOUR RAGE INTO ART WITH PLUTONIC’S NEW SONG “WHERE’S THE TRAUMA

Greetings, dearest gentle reader and music fans. Let’s welcome Skàlavik artist Plutonic. On November 30th, the artist released a single called “Where’s The Trauma.” Let’s dive into it.

The song opens with a pulsating beat, and the artist says, “Where’s The Trauma?” This song was inspired after Anna’s adviser for her thesis, “Trauma, Poetry, Fuck The Jante Law – Creativity as a Means of Survival,” at Iceland University of the Arts, questioned her, “Where’s The Trauma?” Although Anna had penned numerous poems, none dealt with the pressing issue of trauma. She thought about that question, Where’s The Trauma, as Anna went home from school on foot. As she hurried up the stairs to her room, Anna thought about the question, feeling agitated and angry. She told herself, “I’ll show her where the trauma is!” Anna quickly began writing down her feelings of rage at being forced to address the issue, transforming her rage into art publicly. That was the push that Anna needed.

Plutonic is a multitalented artist. She wears many hats as a live performer, producer, songwriter, and electric composer. Anna is a one-woman band, and she will blow you away.

What a powerful song. Singing along to “Where’s The Trauma?” I felt a cathartic release as I yelled those words out. I implore you to listen to this song and hopefully have a cathartic moment like mine. Plutonic is a star, and I can’t wait to hear more music from her.”

“Based in Skálavík in the Faroe Islands, Anna Iachino is an accomplished and visionary creative who’s applied her artistic talents across various projects. Shifting her focus to electronic music in 2022, her shifting sonic vision has resulted in the brand new project called Plutonic.

With a full-length record composed, performed and produced by Anna set to drop later this year, she brings us her debut single as Plutonic with the track titled “Where’s The Trauma?” The song was sparked by a question posed to Anna by her thesis mentor while she pursued her master’s in music at the Iceland University of the Arts.

Anna’s thesis, titled “Trauma, Poetry, Fuck The Jante Law – Creativity as a Means of Survival,” was an exploration of art as a tool for processing and overcoming pain. Yet her mentor’s direct question; “Where’s the trauma?,”struck a nerve. Feeling flustered and furious, she climbed the stairs to her room, determined to confront the question head-on. “I’ll show her where the trauma is,” she thought, channeling her emotions into a frenetic flurry of creativity, resulting in a vivid dose of highly original artistic expression.

Serving up an experimental dance punk sound full of punching rhythms and filtered through an avant-garde lens, the track delivers a brash and angsty jam that’s equally unique and gripping. Opened with the ominous pulse of quiet synth textures, Anna’s voice enters to ask “where’s the trauma” as the strike of claps accents the rhythm.

Developing with warbling background voices and the intense patter of looped synth elements, the snap of the beat injects danceable energy as her vocals stitch moody threads into the track. Building to an epic finale where grooving bass lines, erratic percussive shots and stuttered vocal rhythms collide, “Where’s The Trauma?” delivers an engaging sonic voyage unlike any other.

Offering a spectacular display of channeling bitter emotions into artistic work, it’s an emphatic debut statement from this exciting new project. As Anna Iachino continues her journey as Plutonic and with her first album on the horizon, we can’t wait to see what she’s got in store for the rest of this year and beyond.”

“The song was born in response to the challenge of confronting her own experience of trauma, an “elephant in the room” that Anna had avoided addressing in her poetry. Driven by a mix of frustration and determination, she transformed her emotions into a vibrant dance track that invites one to confront pain through movement and music. “Where’s The Trauma?” not only resonates as a cathartic cry, but also as a testament to the transformative power of art.

“electric”

“For all of you who like experimental electronic music, the new track ‘Where’s The Trauma?’ by Plutonic is a real insider tip! The narrative and predominantly spoken vocals are particularly captivating, interacting perfectly with the rhythm and creating a very expressive atmosphere.
We were also impressed by the minimalist approach, which completely dispenses with melodic elements and allows the dark and slightly gloomy style to become the immediate focus of the production. The distinctive booming bass also has something absolutely captivating about it and brings a completely original vibe to the modern electronic scene.
‘Where’s The Trauma?’ also benefits from interesting glitch effects that perfectly underline the creatively designed soundscape. You can find the preview of the song linked below. For more, you can also follow Plutonic on Facebook and Spotify.”
