Holgar

Holgar Jacobsen is a musician and singer-songwriter from Sørvágur in the Faroe Islands and still lives in his hometown. In musical contexts, he is often known simply as Holgar.

He began playing music at the age of 12 and has since been an active part of the Faroese music scene. Over the years, he has played in several well-known bands, including Enterprice, Ghost Riders, Sørvings, Holgar og Villmenn, Villmenn, Tinganest, and Næturljóð.

In addition to his work with bands, Holgar has performed extensively as a troubadour, and has more than 100 songs releases.

His music blends elements of folk, blues, and country rock, with the occasional reggae influence. He plays both acoustic and electric guitar, and performs many of his songs himself. With a strong focus on authenticity, Holgar strives to create a distinct and personal sound that reflects his musical identity.
