A Better Today

The second single from remastered album out August 22: A Better Today by: dividedminds’25

On August 22, A Better Today will be released – the secund single from the upcoming album The Last Night by dividedminds’25 – a musical revival of an album originally released in 2004 under the name Divided Minds. The album is reborn with a fresh master, two bonus tracks, and new cover art. The full release is set for October 2025.

“A Better Today” is a song about letting go and choosing to begin again. It reflects on cherished memories, allows old wounds to heal, and embraces the quiet courage it takes to forgive – both others and us. It’s about moving forward with softness and daring to believe in something brighter.

The music mirrors the message with a light, melodic pop feel – honest, heartfelt, and quietly powerful. There’s something raw and real in the soundscape that pulls you in. It’s the kind of song you want to sing along to, because it lifts you up while touching something deep. A track that lingers, like hope humming under the skin.

After its original release in 2004, The Last Night received strong reviews, but the project was put on hold the following year when the group decided to end their collaboration with their record label at the time. Now, 21 years after the debut, the album returns – in an updated and carefully reworked version under the new name dividedminds’25.

Music journalist Ivan Rod (Gaffa) wrote in his 2004 review:

“There’s something in the soundscape, lyrics, melodies, vocals, and instrumentation that makes you want to open your ears wide.

A Better Today

Words: Lene Drachmann
Music: Maria Guttesen

Got a letter from a long lost friend
Nothing to recover, nothing to defend
A touch of warmth that I once felt
Run the emotional conveyer belt

Forgive and forget and swallow the rest
I bury the corpses inside my chest
Time will heal ’cause I won’t remember
The grudge will die like a tiny ember

I can only make tomorrow a better today
I can only make tomorrow a better today
I can only make tomorrow a better today
I can only make tomorrow a better today

Too many times I’ve been a temptress
Hoping the rejection was only lies
So much love with no one to bless
The hardened soul was just a disguise

I can only make tomorrow a better today
I can only make tomorrow a better today
I can only make tomorrow a better today
I can only make tomorrow a better today
