Rúni

Rúni is a singer-songwriter from Faroe Islands. He began his music career in 1988 in a band called Section. They released a cassette tape in 1991 called “Í LAGI”.

In 1993, Rúni won a song contest in Denmark – where he was living at that time – called SE OG HØR GRANDPRIX. That year he released a single. Since then, he has been composing music, and has released several singles. The latest single was about the Island Vigra on Norway.

Today, Rúni is trying to make a career as a solo artist.

Rúni has always been inspired by piano players like Elton John and Billy Joel, and He plays the piano on all of his songs.

The new EP “Elski hetta land” is mostly recorded in studio Rubela in Vágur, Faroe Islands from 2017-2019, and is takes inspiration from Rúni’s life in the Faroe Islands and his years living in Denmark.

Rúni is also trying to keep his own style, which is a kind of soft piano rock. All the musicians on this EP are very experienced, and are found through the years to get the specific sound, that Rúni wants.
