“Let me go” – the first single of Anna Louisa
The song “Let me go” was written in November 2017. Lyrically it is about the dilemma of wanting to let go of a relationship, but at the same time having a hard time doing just that. It is about the wish to be free, while harboring a horrific feeling of losing oneself as you break away from that which you know. Anna Louisa’s strong voice manages very well to carry a mixed message of pain and strength, making you associate to such great female singers as Janis Joplin and Amy Winehouse. When Anna Louisa felt that she was ready to record the song she sent the song to Hans Jacob Kollslíð – who has worked with Faroese artists Kári Sverrisson, Marius Ziska, Døgg Nónsgjógv and others – and asked if he could help her get the song recorded. He showed the song to Hans Marius Ziska and they decided to give it a go in his studio.
