Gadders

Growing up around singing and music it was always on the cards that Gadders got together. Some members have known each other from childhood and have been harmonizing for years. The vocal group has performed since 2003 mostly centered around the church and evangelical life in Nes parish. The repertoire is varied consisting of pop, gospel and traditional psalms – often performed a capella. The mission is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Gadders are nine singers, and the name comes from ‘Gaddavegur’, Nes, where several of the group members live. Most if not all of them are musically active in other contexts as soloists, in choirs and as teachers.

At the traditional Church service on the Faroese national holiday ‘ólavsøka’ in 2023 Gadders performed a Faroese version of ‘Facing a task unfinished’. This prompted them to record the song.
